Celebrating Second-half Champions
Dick Goldberg, Director of the Center's Coming of Age, the national age 50+ civic engagement initiative, based at the Center, was among 18 people in the country to win a Wells Fargo Second Half Champion Award for individuals doing new and extraordinary things after age 50.

Recruiting AmeriCorps Members
Project SHINE is now accepting applications for our *new* AmeriCorps Health Literacy Program . Members serve 9-10 hours per week and attend monthly SHINE trainings from October-June. AmeriCorps members serve immigrant and refugee communities in Philadelphia by tutoring English with a health literacy focus and engaging the older immigrants and refugees in healthy aging activities. Members also receive a $1500 stipend and an education award. Those who are bilingual, bicultural, and/or working in or towards a career in health are in high demand! Philadelphia Experience Corps is recruiting adults 55+ for their AmeriCorps Program. Members serve for 15 hours per week in one of 20 schools throughout Philadelphia. AmeriCorps Members serve in the schools as tutors and academic mentors from September through May. Members receive extensive training, a monthly stipend of $230 and an education award upon program completion. These awards are transferable to both children and grandchildren.
