Program Manager, Family Friends

 Alysia Williams is the Family Friends Program Manager and oversees the day-to-day operations of a program that engages volunteers aged 55+ to provide supports for families raising children and youth with special needs.  In addition to providing training and supervision for our volunteer team, Ms. Williams connects families with vital community resources as well as conducts program marketing, recruitment, budgeting and reporting.  Alysia also coordinates the program’s trips and events plus aids in donation procurement.

Fueled by her passion to help empower people in need, Alysia has 15+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector via leadership and direct service roles. During this time, she has worked comfortably alongside individuals from a wide range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Prior to her position with the Intergenerational Center at Temple University, Ms. Williams provided in-home educational services in Philadelphia’s Early Intervention System for children diagnosed with developmental delays. She also directed out-of-school time programming for youth from low-to-high income families (some of whom were overcoming homelessness) and facilitated recovery groups for individuals coping with chemical abuse/dependency. Alysia was also selected to be a Teaching Intern at the historic Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH.

Ms. Williams holds a master’s degree from Eastern University and a bachelor’s degree from Earlham College. Also, Alysia is a member of the Philadelphia Special Needs Consortium and the Philadelphia Kinship Care Committee.
