Program Coordinator, Grandma's Kids

Shanelle Minaya joined the staff at Temple University as an Educational Coordinator for Grandma’s Kids in July 2007 and was recently promoted to Program Coordinator.  She has many responsibilities at Grandma’s Kids such as curriculum development, case management, volunteer and staff recruitment, trainings, public relations, and direct services

 

Additionally, she has several years of experience providing services to children and their families in the Lehigh Valley and the Greater Philadelphia counties.  Upon graduating from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2002, Shanelle volunteered as an Americorps VISTA at a neighborhood association in Lubbock, Texas and then completed her year of service as public relations coordinator at a family center in Pen Argyl, PA.  She later moved to Philadelphia PA to pursue a career in social work.  As a social worker, Shanelle provided support for children living in out of home placement as well as their biological and foster families.  

 

Shanelle continues to expand her career by pursuing a Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Temple University.  She has taken the initiative to combine both the Second Step curriculum and academic experience to further develop the behavioral health service component of the Grandma's Kids program.
